It begins the twelfth field campaign to study the breeding population of Eleonora’s falcon from the Archipiélago Chinijo, Lanzarote.

Every year, we have to set up a base camp with the necessary stuff to carry out the proposed objectives. Once installed, the census of the breeding population begins. We spend about a month in this task, locating the active nests at great distance with the aid of terrestrial country-scopes and binoculars. In addition, we devoted a lot of time identifying the color morph of breeding adults, as well as their individual identification by reading the plastic rings they have.

Comienza la decimosegunda campaña de campo con la población de Halcón de Eleonor nidificante en el Archipiélago Chinijo, Lanzarote.

Cada año, tenemos que instalar un campamento base con el material necesario para llevar a cabo los objetivos propuestos. Una vez instalados, comienza el censo de la población reproductora. En esta tarea invertimos casi un mes, localizando los nidos a gran distancia con ayuda de telescopios terrestres y prismáticos. Así mismo, dedicamos mucho tiempo a identificar el morfo de los adultos reproductores, además de a su identificación individual mediante la lectura de las anillas plásticas que portan.
